Championing Wellness: The Antigua and Barbuda Initiative

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) is teaming up with wellness advocates for the World Wellness Weekend on September 15-17. The partnership highlights the island’s dedication to holistic health.

ABTA’s Strategic Collaborations for Wellness Weekend

ABTA revealed that Ms. Keisha Schahaff, the 2023 Wellness Leader for Antigua and Barbuda’s World Wellness Weekend, will helm the events. As official ambassadors, Tricia Greenaway from Wellness Footprints Antigua and Alejandro Leo of Jumby Bay join Schahaff, a well-known health coach and astronaut.

World Wellness Weekend: A Global Mission

World Wellness Weekend supports the UN’s third Sustainable Development Goal: “Good health and well-being for all.” This initiative emphasizes five wellness pillars: sleep and creativity, nutrition and immunity, invigorating movement and vitality, mindfulness and serenity, and uniting a sense of purpose with community spirit.

The Collective Push: International Participation in Wellness

The global wellness movement has international support. Over 150 countries and 8,000 venues are preparing to participate, hosting free events both indoors and out. This effort stresses the value of daily wellness for all.

Aligned with this initiative, ABTA spotlights Antigua and Barbuda’s wellness attractions. To enhance the country’s wellness reputation, ABTA partnered with wellness experts, branding the islands as relaxation hubs. This move reflects ABTA’s commitment to uplifting wellness in national tourism.

Adapting to the Surge in Wellness Tourism

Global travel trends are shifting towards wellness tourism. As a result, Antigua and Barbuda are adapting to lure wellness travelers, offering scenic views, peaceful retreats, and holistic experiences.

The ABTA urges residents to participate in the weekend’s activities, boosting community involvement. This engagement increases wellness resource awareness, strengthens community bonds, and promotes national wellness unity.

As World Wellness Weekend approaches, the synergy between ABTA and esteemed wellness figures in Antigua and Barbuda heralds a healthier, more integrative future for residents and tourists alike.

Antigua and Barbuda’s collaboration with ABTA and wellness luminaries emphasizes the nation’s unwavering commitment to holistic health and well-being. This collaboration transcends a mere event, carving out a legacy of wellness, rejuvenation, and community cohesion for everyone who visits.
